Helen is a journalist and the author and creator of the Scoop McLaren: Detective Editor children's book series.

As Scoop always says, the news never sleeps, so Helen leads a busy life working for a newspaper in southern New South Wales, Australia.

But when she's not interviewing the Prime Minister (okay, so that never happens) or chasing up an exciting, ground-breaking exclusive (that sometimes happens), she's happily with her laptop, bringing Scoop's next adventure to life (in between friends, family, drinking coffee, baking cupcakes and taking the occasional beach holiday).

Helen has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Charles Sturt University where she majored in psychology and English literature, minoring in sociology. She is currently studying child, youth and family counselling at University of Southern Queensland.
